Mexican Folk Art…

I’ve been wanting a tattoo on my upper arm for ages. I’ve gone back and forth with a couple of ideas and I think I’m finally beginning to narrow it down.

I’m in love with Mexican folk art. I’m particularly drawn to Day of the Dead pieces, traditional Mexican embroidery and anything having to do with the Virgin Mary. I love the bright colors, the movement, the combination of mortality and immortality, sadness and joy. I’m hoping to be able to come up with a beautiful design based on all of these things.

Here are some images I found inspiring.
